There is time for everything.
The lion waits patiently for the right moment before attacking his prey. There is time to attack, and there is time to save energy. If he were to chase his prey all the time, he would not only be unsuccessful in catching any preys, but he would also eventually run out of energy and over exhausts himself to death.
